We installed a manual generator backup system for a homeowner in Rock Springs who already had a portable generator and wanted a safe, permanent way to power the house during an outage.

The work included a service-rated outdoor manual transfer switch tied into the existing 150A residential service, a permanent 30A generator connection, feeder and grounding/bonding modifications, and a generator cord setup. We kept the transfer equipment tight to the existing service so the finished exterior installation stayed clean and didn’t require a bunch of exposed conduit.

Once everything was complete, we ran the house on generator power, verified the transfer operation, and performed a thermal inspection of the connections and equipment under load. No abnormal heating was found. We also walked the homeowner through how to operate the system and manage loads while on generator power.

The customer was very happy with the finished job.
